Our Story

A field of trees, a dog called Jack, and a dream for every wagging tail.

We moved to our little patch of North Lincolnshire in 2012 and planted our first Christmas tree field the following year — nurturing every sapling with patience and pride until it was ready to bring festive joy to local homes.

Over time, the land evolved, and so did we. Rather than replanting, we’ve chosen to let parts of the field return to natural woodland, allowing some of our taller trees to continue standing — guardians of wildlife, carbon-catchers, and quiet reminders of the role nature plays in healing us all.

Then came Jack — a two-year-old rescue Labrador, damaged by cruelty but full of quiet wisdom.

He joined our family in 2016 and taught us more about trust, empathy, and unconditional love than any book or trainer ever could.

Jack never felt safe in crowded places.
So we dreamed of somewhere peaceful. Secure.  A place where a dog like Jack could simply be.

We lost him to cancer in January 2025.

But his legacy runs deep in the soil here.

That dream? It became our mission.
To create a safe, enriching space for dogs and their humans — especially the nervous, the misunderstood, the rescue dogs still finding their feet.

We believe in:

  • Responsible dog ownership

  • Kind, confidence-building training

  • And welcoming every wagging tail, no matter the backstory

Tails in the Trees is for dogs like Jack.
And for the people who love them, fiercely.
