ABOUT TAILS IN THE TREES

Is my booking completely private?

Yes. When you book Tails in the Trees, the space is exclusively yours for your booked session.
You won’t be sharing it with another booking or unfamiliar dogs, making it ideal for dogs and owners who enjoy having space to themselves.

How many dogs can I bring?

You can bring up to 4 dogs per booking.
We don’t accommodate larger group walks, dog socials or gatherings.

Can dogs from different households come together?

Yes, provided all dogs attending have already met and are comfortable together.
Tails in the Trees should not be used to introduce unfamiliar dogs to each other for the first time.

Is Tails in the Trees suitable for nervous or reactive dogs?

Tails in the Trees was created very much with dogs who need space in mind.
Every booking is private, so there won’t be another booking or unfamiliar dogs sharing the park with you.
However, every dog is different, and owners are responsible for deciding whether our fencing, environment and facilities are suitable for their individual dog.

FENCING & SAFETY

Is the whole 6 acres secure?

This is an important one, as different areas of Tails in the Trees have different types and heights of fencing.
Our secure grass exercise ring is enclosed by 1.8m high mesh fencing with 10cm x 5cm apertures.
The larger woodland area is enclosed rather than classed as secure.
Along two sides, 1.2m stock fencing runs alongside our established hawthorn boundary hedge, which is approximately 3m high in many areas.
At the bottom of the field there is 1.8m high mesh fencing with 10cm x 5cm apertures.
The fence separating the field from our yard is 1.2m high.
Please consider your own dog’s behaviour and abilities when deciding whether the woodland fencing is suitable for them.
If you are unsure, we recommend keeping your dog on a lead in the woodland or using our 1.8m secure exercise ring.

My dog has never been off lead or doesn’t have reliable recall. Can we visit?

You are very welcome to visit, but we can’t assess whether our fencing is suitable for an individual dog.
Please read the fencing information above carefully and decide whether it meets your dog’s needs.
If you’re unsure whether your dog would remain safely within the woodland area, they should stay on a lead there. Our secure grass exercise ring is enclosed by 1.8m high mesh fencing.

Do you allow XL Bullies?

Yes. Exempted XL Bullies are welcome, provided all current legal requirements are followed and the required documentation is provided.
Tails in the Trees is considered a public place for the purposes of the XL Bully legislation. This means the legal requirements regarding leads and muzzles still apply in all areas of Tails in the Trees, including during a private booking.
Please read our full Terms & Conditions before booking.

BOOKING

When do you release new booking slots?

We normally release availability approximately two weeks ahead.
There isn’t a fixed day or time when new appointments are released — we add them when we are able to do so.

Can I book two sessions together if I’d like longer?

Yes. If consecutive sessions are available, you’re very welcome to book them back-to-back.

What is the Regulars Pass?

Our Regulars Pass gives you 11 x 50-minute sessions for the price of 10.
The pass is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and all bookings are subject to normal appointment availability.
Purchasing a pass does not guarantee particular days or times, so if you can only visit at very specific times, please check our current availability before purchasing.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

All bookings are non-refundable.
You can reschedule your session up to 48 hours before its booked start time by clicking Manage My Booking in your booking confirmation email.
Unfortunately, requests to cancel or change a booking with less than 48 hours’ notice cannot be accepted and the full booking fee will be retained.

YOUR VISIT

How does arrival and parking work?

Please watch our arrival video on the website before your first visit.
When you arrive, drive through our entrance into the parking area. If the field is vacant and it is your booked start time, you can then drive your vehicle into the field.
Please do not let your dog out of your vehicle until you are safely inside the field and the gate is secured.
This arrangement is particularly helpful for nervous, reactive or excitable dogs as you don’t need to unload them at the roadside or in a public car park.

Should I arrive early?

Please arrive as close to your booked start time as possible and do not enter the field before your session begins.
The time between bookings is there to help prevent customers and dogs from different appointments meeting.
Please also make sure you leave promptly at the end of your booked session.

What facilities are available?

You’ll find plenty around the park, including:
-
Fresh drinking water
-
Poo bags and bins
-
Boot and paw washing facilities
-
A shelter
-
Picnic benches
-
A portaloo
-
Dog play and activity equipment
-
A paddling pool when appropriate
And, of course, acres of trees, paths, smells and places to explore.

What should I wear?

Tails in the Trees is a real woodland and grass environment rather than a manicured park.
Paths and ground can be uneven, muddy, wet or slippery depending on the weather, so please dress for the conditions and wear sensible footwear.
Your best trainers probably aren’t the wisest choice after three days of Lincolnshire rain!

Is Tails in the Trees wheelchair accessible?

Tails in the Trees is a natural woodland environment with uneven ground, slopes and surfaces that can change with the weather.
Some wheelchairs and mobility aids may manage the terrain better than others, so we can’t describe the whole site as fully accessible.
If you have particular accessibility requirements, please contact us before booking. We’ll happily explain the layout and conditions so you can decide whether it is suitable for you.

Can I leave a dog in my vehicle while another dog uses the park?

No. Dogs must not be left unattended in vehicles while visiting Tails in the Trees.

WEATHER & CLOSURES

What happens if it rains?

Usually, we get wet!
Tails in the Trees is an outdoor woodland environment and sessions normally continue in ordinary British weather.
Please dress appropriately and expect mud during wetter periods.

What happens during very hot or severe weather?

The welfare and safety of dogs and visitors comes first.
We may close Tails in the Trees when temperatures become unsafe, during severe weather or if other conditions make the site unsuitable to use.
If we close the park and this affects your booking, we’ll contact you directly.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

I’ve never visited before. What do I need to know?

Please read your booking confirmation and our Field Safety Rules before you arrive, and watch our arrival video so you know exactly where to go.
On your first visit, we’ll meet you and show you around, explain how everything works and answer any questions you may have.
Then it’s over to you and your dog!
There’s no need to rush around the whole park. Many dogs benefit from having time to sniff, explore and take everything in at their own pace.
Please supervise your dogs throughout your visit, pick up after them and leave the park promptly at the end of your booked session ready for our next visitors.
Most importantly, enjoy having the place to yourselves.
